3. CROOKED TREE WILDLIFE RESERVE -- The
crooked tree is temporary habitat for a lot of migrating birds. The Jabiru
Stork, the largest bird in the Americas, also calls in from time to time. They
appear in November, build their stick nesting platforms in December or January,
and raise their young by June.

4. BIRD WATCHING -- Belize is home to many native birds and a temporary habitat for many migrating birds. Bird watching is unique in that it does not require much, just a short walk through designated paths with your binoculars and start watching.

5. BELIZE ZOO --The
Belize Zoo was founded in 1983 as a retirement home for natural history
"movie stars." It has since become a refuge and rehabilitation center
for injured wildlife, as well as a home for abused and abandoned
"pets."

6. BABOON SANCTUARY -- Bermudian Landing was visited by primate researchers in 1981, whose
follow up studies highlighted the higher densities of Black Howler Monkey
associated with riparian rather than other types of forest . After initial
consultation with the villagers in 1984, an application was made to WWF USA in
1985 for funds to set up the reserve.

7. JAGUAR RESERVE -- 160 square mile area that was first established
to save the jaguar from extinction, the Cockscomb, as it’s locally known, is
actually made up of two basins that serve as watersheds for two of Belize’s
major rivers. Jaguar, puma, ocelot, jaguarundi and margay have their homes and
hunting grounds inside the reserve.

lining offers the adventurous tourists a thrilling opportunity to soar through
the jungle treetops high above the forest floor. The canopy tour involves
traversing from one platform to another along a steel cable suspended up to 80
feet above the forest floor.
